maximum, they both work here, mate. Try again.
almain, the download works fine. I’m still trying to figure out why some people get errors and others don’t. Give me a couple of days, i’ll try and put up the md5 hashes. That way we’ll know if you lose somethig when you download. And yes, you can play your mp3s n stuff with Quick Play Direct. You need to put you music in the My Shared Folder in Windows, and then you can see it in QPD. Best of luck!

Asif, for the computers that you got working with QPD, please let me know if they all had ICH7 chipsets or did any of them have ICH8? Mine is an ICH8 and whenever I follow your instructions and try to install Quickplay Direct 2.3, I will always get the blue screen of death (BSOD) after installing and seeing the Windows XP logo. I suspect that the problem is that the installation includes the ICH7 chipset drivers but not the ICH8 drivers. Can you confirm? Thanks!

Knight,
As much as I’d like to help you out with that question, I really can’t. I’ve personally only dealt with installs on the dv2120us. I’ve helped out with some dv1040s and 2195s. I don’t know what country models those were.
Unfortunately, since I don’t have the 2120us anymore, I can’t scan the hardware specs to let you know what model it was, and HPs detailed specs view for the 2120us gives a page not found error. My guess is you’re right. My replacement dv2415us is on its way, and I suspect it has a newer chipset, which means that QPD 2.3 may not function on it. I would, however, bet that you’re right. The 2.3 that I have has been around since 2005 apparently, and that would make it pretty damn old.

The files are not downloading to the end, some are 12,5 megs, some 21, some 16 and the worst thing is that your server doesn’t support resuming. I tried four or five times to download the same file, and every time it fails. The strange thing is that explorer says - downloads were ok (opera says - an error).
Why did you select such a strange way of publishing the archives?
I’m sorry, I have a slow connection max 15 kbit/s, maybe… I don’t want to ask about that…, maybe you can upload the QPDirect 2.3 to my ftp? email me please if you can.

pablomedok,
All the files in the sliced section are 35 megs. Downloads do time out, but there’s not much that I can do about that. I’ve tried a billion hosts; they all have the same problem.
I’ve had to select this way because of bandwidth restrictions. If I simply put up a link for downloads, people’s viruses etc. go crazy by downloading the same file like 15 times, which totally hurts my bandwidth.
I will have to think about the uploading part. I’m sitting in dump hole Pakistan right now, and my upload speed doesn’t exceed 15 KBps. At that rate it takes me days to get up QPD.

Hi!
I am having some trouble with my DV9207us (DV9000 series), recently I received my HP laptop back from HP Repair, they replaced the LCD Screen.
1. Quickplay buttons worked the first week after that.
2. Quickplay “VOLUME” controls stopped working, Red mute light on when Mute is not in effect in windows, volume controls are still lighted up (positive and negative)
3. I re-install from HP_RECOVERY partition:
- Sound driver
- QPlaybuttons
- Quickplay app
After that, VOLUME buttons (Positive and negative) stop lighting up (grey as it the computer was shut down, other buttons like Play-Pause were lighted up).
4. I re-install the BIOS and reboot, buttons light up however MUTE is still red. I repeat the installation of audio, quickplay, quickplay buttons drivers without sucess.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Try reformatting/reinstalling the whole thing. HP is shady, but there’s a definite chance that you have some hardware problems. I have come to the conclusion that motherboards are defective on several hp notebooks.
