Here are the new download keys for HP QuickPlay. Please, use the instructions provided on http://www.asifism.com/installing-hp-quickplay-on-your-laptopnotebook-vista-xp/ for installing QuickPlay Direct before posting questions and queries already answered.

To download QuickPlay, visit http://downloads.asifism.com and use one of the following appropriate keys. Also, DO USE the download of Winrar provided to extract the zipped version of QuickPlay Direct (HPQPDP.rar), otherwise you may get errors while trying to extract it.

Once again, I had some whiner complain and ask about why there are keys. I’ve answered the question before, and for those low IQ internet users who are frustrated by the keys and can’t figure out why they’re there, well, tough shit. Move on. For the rest of you wonderful people, here are the keys:

   Firstly, thanks for the wonderful compilation and keeping the thread alive with all the updates - I have taken the plunge unsuccessfully a couple of times before for my 2 HP notebooks, but keep coming back to try installing QP direct on my dv6700T again. I have a quick question - how long approximately does the “wait” on steps 7,8,9 last - its been over 2 hours now, and i wonder if something could have gone wrong.

   I tried it multiple times, and after about 4 mins and reaching 78%, the progress bar stops - even when left wprking for 4 hours. The status message is: HP QuickPlay Direct Setup is performing the requested operations. There is no HDD activity shown on the indicator lights. Wonder what stops. I have a dv6700t C2D T9300 with XP downgrade from Vista.

   So, would like to know how much is the approx “wait” time.

   What version of XP are you using? And this is just the file extraction phase, really no reason why it should get hung up at this point. It does get stuck at different percentages for different people, but moves on after a few minutes.

   Whats the Graphic Card on the laptop?

   It is an XP Pro sp2. The graphics card is Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS. If it is only a few minutes, seems like it is having some other issue. Any clues?

   Some more information - I have not yet installed QPW(2.3) on the XP - should i do that first? And the cab files - data 1-4 - do not open in WinRAR/WinZip saying that the archive is unknown format or damaged - should they be opening in WinRAR/Zip like other cab files? I did “test” the multi-file zip archive in WinZip and the test was successful, so I guess i should not be having invalid zip files, or am i missing sth?

   Okay. Download 1-4 again, and extract the files with the version of Winrar provided. If you extract with another version or with Winzip, there’s a chance that you may encounter problems.

    this is a great topic and we really have to keep this forum alive (for all the hp users out there.:)) firrt of all thanks so much for the guides and procedure. its great to have those information online. second, im trying to download the QP Direct but am having access issues using the keys saying “Access is not valid anymore” dyou have an updated keys for the download? can you update it please.

    Hy,
    Please explain to a litlle Silly French NOT informatician how this download section works ! I do copy the key in the instruction section, i do paste it in the download section but it still answer me : “INVALID KEY” !
