As for more than 1+ partitions and a quickplay partition, I had the same problem. I got rid of my second partition for QPD to work. I've done hours of research on this, and for some folks it works, while for others it doesn't work. I didn't invest any time into editing boot.ini. If you're going to do that, be prepared to loose everything a couple of times before you get it right. The trick, I believe, does lie in editing boot.ini.
