-New hp QuickPlay Download Keys & installation Guide
Okay, here’s the new key for HPQPDP: 922e107543c7f27f6d9f9ed815f54b3b
There will be 5 parts up for this soon: data1, data2, data3, data4, and all other files.
Here’s new new key for QPW: c2d3bd37f13954076a680de6bb3fcece
This key can be accessed a total of 100 times. I have to keep doing this because I can’t allow more than a total of 100 downloads of HPQPDP in a 24 hour period, or my site gets suspended for going over the day’s bandwidth allowance. When the 100 access hits are up, the key expires, and you let me know so I can generate a new one.Â

Okay, I’ve looked around on the internet, and apparently some other people have had the same problem with the host I’m using. They’re pretty helpful, so let’s see what they say. The complaint I’ve seen on a couple of websites stated that downloads just timed out randomly, and the problem got fixed after a couple of days, and then came back again after several weeks. Keeps fluctuating, but it does not have anything t do with the session or anything.

Asif, I have been monitoring your uploads… cab2 keeps staring over on your uploads.. your right the host sucks
May 5th, 2007 at 6:54 pm
Yeah cab2 has had problems because my electricity went out. That’s what I get for being in Pakistan. But the last time I put up the file and it was unsecure, I got over 100 full downloads in 24 hours. Wonder how that happened. Something flaky with the server. Only problem is, not many offer everything they do. Site5 hosting does something that can be considered competitive, but I gotta give them a chance here because it’s a MAJOR pain in the ass to move over half a dozen websites.

No what I mean is every 10 mins or so if I refresh the page the size of the 2nd cab file changes all over the place.. Highest I have seen it was 131meg and lowest was 5.9 meg.. the 5.9 was AFTER the 131. Your host cant even keep your upload connection from resetting.

I think you need to create a multi-part (spanned) zip file.
I can’t stay connected to a download for more than 3 mins anymore which means I have not been able to get more than 80megs of the file.
With all these disconnections and attempted redownloads we are going to push you past the quota even sooner.

Alright. I’m gonna try spanning with Winzip. Now that I’m doing more research, I’m seeing some shady things about my host servage.net. Maybe it’s time to look around; I’m getting ready to launch a major site.

OMG!!! I got the full file….all 706 megs.
Not sure what changed.. Did you call them at all??
May 5th, 2007 at 11:09 pm
Yeah I complained to them, but they didn’t move me to a different cluster. Somehow, it just got fixed. I’m glad you got it. However, I am uploading split files too.

I got it too thanks !! But still can’t get QP working :/

Darek,
So glad you got the download. Now, what’s the problem you’re having with QP?
May 6th, 2007 at 4:19 am
I got QP to work… The second time I installed it.
The first time I answered no to the reboot at the end.. you need to say yes.
It then boots into the QP windows instance and installs your drivers.
Once that is done it reboots again back into windows and you are done..
To test turn off the computer. Then hit the circular arrow button on the hotkey section. You should boot into QP

What are you running, XP or Vista?
May 6th, 2007 at 11:22 am
hey thanks for the files,
it seems like the install went fine, but i cant load quickplay direct.
My laptop came with vista, and i installed the quickplay direct onto the x: drive. the computer rebooted into xp like it was supposed to after the install to put in the drivers, then rebooted into vista.
however, when i try to push the quickplay button, it still loads into vista, and opens quickplay for windows.
any ideas?

Sam,
If you look at your partitions again, you’ll probably see that the partition you assigned the letter X: to is not longer assigned as X. Once you do that, your problem should be solved. Here’s the issue: You can’t seem to rename it with the Disk Management in Vista. You’ll need some third party software like partition magic to accomplish that task.

Thanks for the work you’ve done Asif. I finally managed to DL the file (I think). Any chance you could post the md5sum for the original files so we can verify we got them correctly. I know it must seem that we’re all just over the top beggars, so let me reiterate… I greatly appreciate the download. HP suggested I do a format and reinstall to fix my problem with Quickplay. I was sorely disappointed with that suggestion.

I’ve uploaded a md5sum for data2.cab and data3.cab. It’s in the QPD download directory.
HP Customer support doesn’t know anything. Every time I spoke to those monkeys they ask me to send in the laptop. When I was living in Colorado, I had a zd7120us, and it was like 6 months of the year they kept the laptop and 6 months I did.
But I am seriously consdering going back to XP Media Center Edition. Too many things still don’t work with Vista.
