My installation always hangs at 71%, i left it on overnight and it still never completed. I would really like to get them working, and i’ve redownloaded the files twice from different sources, so i know that isn’t the problem.

Any help/ideas/suggestions?

forgot to say that i tried hp quickplay 2.3 and i’m on xp sp2.

Hi there, Can this be installed on a Compaq presario V3617tu?.. It has a quick launch button and capable of quickplay. i purchased it with nothing installed. but I vista Ultimate. I have no problem so far, but i want to enable the quickplay direct. i already installed a quickplay 3 for windows. and it works fine. and now I want to ask if I can also install quickplay direct and according to forums. it doesnt matter whether you have vista or xp… please advice.

Trying is the only way to find out, my friend. It will work on both xp & vista, but whether or not it works on the v3617tu is chance you will have to take and share with the rest of us.

Sorry, forgot to respond. All i’m really trying to get working is the buttons at teh top of my laptop. I’ve installed both the partition and the windows program, so 2.3 direct and 2.3 for windows. i got 2.3 for windows working after i installed the 2.3 direct. But after all that, and installing probably every driver from HP’s support website(http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=1842189&lang=en), i still can’t get those darn buttons to work.
I’m using a dv9000 and it was weorking on vista, then i downgraded to XP and got everything working except those buttons. i may start a thread somewhere asking for further help, i dont’ want to sound needy.

Is it a dv9000 CTO? I assume you’ve tried both the drivers on the web site on the URL you’ve provided here. If it is, in fact, a CTO, it is not common that HP hasn’t provided the right drivers, you may have to get in touch with them. Your other problem could lie in the fact that your BIOS is flased with the Vista version and you’re trying to get the buttons to run in XP.

I have downloaded the QPD files. When I extract them using winzip I get an error extracting cab3. I have tried re-downloading some of the files (Not all yet) and I still cannot extract cab3. Is there something else I can do?

You need to download the version of Winrar provided on this website with the QP download keys. That was used to zip the file. With other versions you usually get problems.

Keys for every version is outdated. Please update. Thank you very much for sharing.

I’ve tried this on compaq V3617tu, and its not workin(Quickplay Direct). but the Window app(Quick play for windows) was working, but I use windows media center instead.

Downloaded and installed Quickplay 2.3 for Windows. Came back to get QuickPlay direct and the keys are NO LONGER VALID.

I Have This Program On My Laptop And Haven’t Had Any Problems Til Recently. Usually I Put In A DVD, It Plays, No Problem. I Tried It One Day And Noticed That When i Put In A DVD, It Plays But It Slows Down About A Half A Second And The Sound Keeps Cutting Out And Sounds Like Static. I’ve Tried Different DVDs With Different Programs And DVD Players, I Found Out It’s The Program But Don’t Know What To Do To Fix It. I’ve Got An HP With Windows XP. Any Help Would Be Appreciated.

You should pack these files into a torrent… less bandwidth problem for you, and no more having to restart failed downloads from the beginning for me.

Need new keys. I second the notion to torrent these for us, or whenever I get the download I will torrent them. Or I’ll just flat out host them with no key nonsense.

Well, as long as you are willing to pay for the bandwidth, I’ve got absolutely no problem removing the keys. As I’ve said in the past, talk is free. Host is not.
